ART 553/854 Art of Digital Video	SYLLABUS	ASSIGNMENTS	NOTES

Space DVD

Create a DVD to explore space/3-d objects. We will program the DVD in class. You will prepare materials before class. You must take a minimum of 4 photos of a space (a shot north, south, east, and west) and have at least 2 spaces connected with buttons. There should be at least 6 other buttons in the space that connect to something.

No dead ends.

Motion Project

You will create an "animation" of some sort and post it to the web and email embed code to instructor

Art Statement

Especially in the arts, we must be able to talk about what we do. It is in the process of talking (or writing) that will give meaning to ourselves and others.

Submit to: dvplace:
a brief statement of what you hope your work will achieve as art...why are you an artist. This is a more general statement than your Final Artist Statement.

Put your name and "art statement" in the subject line.

These statements will be posted anonymously on the art statement blog.

Final

The Final will be a project determined by you and the instructor together. This can be an interactive DVD or a Web/Blog site or a video produced using Motion. The Final Project will be shown on the last day of class. All Final Project plans must be submitted in writing to the instructor by the 7th week of class.
