This is so annoying but...graphic programs' pixels are square and the DV codec (and digital video in general) pixels are rectangular. ARRRGH! So when you create graphics or photos for the screen they can look streched. SO you want to set photoshop to accomodate this difference. It is easy. PS 7.0 and upwards has auto sets for this.

Go to File, and down to New

Select the above setting (or its newer inception). TA DA!
